We're Hakoon Games, an indie studio based in Greater Vancouver, Canada.Friends for over a decade, with diverse backgrounds in the arts and game development, we joined forces in late 2023 to create something special.

Thrive is a nonviolent single-player game combining two of our favourite genres: Skill-Based Platformers and Metroidvania.By combining the fun aspects of skill-based platform puzzles with the freedom of exploration and backtracking of Metroidvania, the game will offer a balanced challenge so more casual players can finish and enjoy the main story.Still, it will also provide clever and bold optional courses that defy the most experienced ones.

Our team are passionate outdoor enthusiasts who share a deep love for Canada's breathtaking landscapes.This love for nature translates into the game's core philosophy: you don't need violence to craft an exciting adventure and remarkable story.
With her magical umbrella in hand and the help of the many friendships made along her journey, Sophie will learn and grow throughout this fantastic adventure that encourages players to try, fail, learn, repeat, and succeed.
A few concepts of the game.
The game features Sophie, a brave eight-year-old girl who, after losing her beloved grandpa, decides to step up and fulfill an old tradition of his: to find and collect the rarest plants around the Rocky Valley during springtime to beautify her grandma’s garden with a gorgeous flower collection.
